uncut hvarf/heim review'
(gagrnýi)

an accompaniment to their forthcoming (and rather stunning looking) film. heima, hvarf-heim is a record of two halves. the six. piano-led transformations of classic sigur ros tracks like "staralfur" and "asetis byrjun" are plain gorgeous, allowing what are essentially protracted pop melodies to ebb and flow across the acoustic backing. the five new tracks that, open proceedings, however, fail to add much to the band's remit. yes. they're technically impressive, wildly ambitious and take several days to reach a conclusion. but for those who always thought this was nothing but music for dolphins to mate to, the story remains very much the same.
