hasn't snowed here in ages, january was unusually dry/low, whatever was lying around is slowly melting at noon or getting trampled into the ground
rather depressing really |
Yes, but snow today! I was half-wishing for a snowstorm and a snow day, and half-wishing it wouldn't be bad enough so I can still go in to work today
- I'm travelling out into the 'burbs for work. It doesn't look like the overnight snow was heavy - expected 5cm, but looks like less from my
window. Anyway, gotta jet!

tram? |
train: it probably takes me as much time to get to the nearest trainstation as it does to get to work (under normal circumstances that is)
bus: would have been equally stuck in the traffic jam as a car (besides, the only bus that i can take to go to work takes a huge detour (about trice
as long as i would drive by car)
tram: same as bus (and in normal circumstances that's no longer an option, unless i want to make a perfectly silly trip all the way to the centre of
antwerp, switch trams and take a similar trip out of the centre)
and i wont dignify answering anna-list's last option

2cm snow |
more like 10 cm where i live (wooo!!!)
this morning at least... much is trampled down/gone now... but it started snowing again on the way back
while sitting in the car during my first attempt this morning the broadcast went 400km>600km>800km>900+km in a quarter of an hour or so... when they
went over the 900 mark the dude on the radio went "folks, what are you thinking, just stay at home, this is pointless :^)

Second storm in a row. Probably another 12 inches.
me: "why is there cinnamon on the floor?"
her: "I was drunk."
|
|
|
Snow storm finally hit us in NYC today. Someone in my office said: "There's gonna be at least 7 inches from now until tonight" and I yelled out
"That's what she said." Yes, I'm in second grade.
Yo! Omar's comin'!!

Things I've learned from the 3 storms this winter - I hate shoveling, snow storms aren't as fun as when I was a kid.
me: "why is there cinnamon on the floor?"
her: "I was drunk."

Thankfully I live in an apartment and don't drive.
I did lose a watch (with a loose buckle) in the winter of 2008 while shoveling snow at work once though - the watch was about 8 years old by then. I
was upset, and hate shoveling because of the experience. :(

About 30cm in the last 24 hours. This on top of the previous lot that didn't melt yet. And it's still coming down.

holy crap. had snow all day wednesday but it was ok. i was working from home yesterday and it was just rain in glasgow. actually it was just rain
everywhere except inverclyde and even though i expected it had snowed some more there i did not expect to find such a thick layer this morning -
definitely the thickest i've seen this winter.
and it looks like it's all going to melt today and this could mean flooding. not good.

Our snow is finally starting to melt. I walked on grass for the first time this year yesterday.

^ Same here, except I didn’t walk on any grass, just slush.
|

so, most of the snow we had melted when a northeaster hit our area on thursday. most of the snow was replaced by slush. then this layer froze
overnight while a new snow layer mounted on top of it. the result = an official stay at home snowday.
there were also many places where the old snow didn't melt at all and they ended up with over three feet of the white stuff (I love snow but that's
way too much). many powerlines were broken due to trees snapping from all the weight. not to mention a few roofs that gave into the weight of the
accumulation.
surprisingly, almost all main roads and side streets were clear this morning. them plowers did an awesoemjob job overnight. :)

We had a minor snowcalypse on Tuesday evening... it took me 2hrs to get home :S I was in the middle of the storm and didn't have that much gas left.

It’s four degrees outside (i.e., 4°C/39°F).
And it’s bloody snowing?! WTF?!? It’s been nice, warm, and springlike for almost a week, and suddenly it starts bloody SNOWING again?!
Fucking schizo-weather.
|
|
|
we've had frost on cars in the morning this week, and yesterday there was a hail shower. i'm not ruling out snow overnight any time this week :/
|
|
|
When I left my parents’ house (at ten past "#&€!§%!"&§ five yesterday morning!), it was –6°C, as well. But it was still spring cold, not winter
cold. There was no hint of bitterness or snow in the air.
And now all of a sudden, in the middle of the day, snow. Again.
